PR and Social Manager (B2B)

This is a rare opportunity to join the B2B team at WPR, a Sunday Times Best Small Companies to Work For 2020, and one of the UK’s most award-winning agencies.

Job Description

We’re looking for a superstar PR and social manager to work across some of our biggest B2B accounts. You’ll thrive on getting your head around complex topics – from machine tools and robotics to drainage – and distilling them into copy which captures the attention of a reader.

A love of creating great content is essential. You’ll be able to take technical information and mould it into many forms – press releases, features, LinkedIn posts and tweets – to name but a few.

Pitching to journalists and convincing them to run your features over anybody else’s will come naturally to you, while your ability to drive awareness, leads and sales for your clients will be what gets you out of bed in the morning.

You’ll thrive on working in a fast-paced environment, be able to think creatively, and advise clients, all while organising and mentoring a talented team.

Key Competencies

  • Must be educated to degree standard.
  • Will ideally hold a full, clean driving licence

Experience and Knowledge

  • A minimum of two years’ agency or in-house experience is required, ideally in a B2B/technical PR role

Abilities and Skills

The chosen applicant will:-

  • Be able to think creatively and strategically
  • Work alongside the B2B Account Directors to deliver strong communications programmes across the B2B client mix.
  • Have experience working within the B2B sector
  • Be able to demonstrate strong writing skills – with the ability to draft content for blog posts, press releases, in-depth feature articles, award entries and even white papers
  • Possess a confident telephone manner – able to pitch stories to the media and secure coverage
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation skills and attention to detail
  • Be knowledgeable about the trade media and the online channels available for the B2B market
  • Have the ability to process and translate technical information into meaningful content for the media and content marketing campaigns
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • Ensure all work is completed on time and within budget
  • Be able to mentor junior members of the team and lead by example

  • Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
  • 20 days holiday + additional 3 days between Christmas and new year. Additional day’s holiday for every year of service, up to 25 days
