Aggreko Appoints WPR to Bring Its PR to Life

Aggreko plc, leading supplier of temporary power generation and temperature control equipment, has appointed Birmingham-based PR agency, WPR, to drive its UK communications strategy.

As a FTSE 250 company with a diverse portfolio of products, Aggreko sought an agency which could deliver unique content that demonstrated the passion and expertise to set the supplier of heating, cooling and power generation equipment apart in the energy sector.

WPR, the Midlands’ largest independent PR agency by revenue, will be tasked with working closely with Aggreko’s in-house marketing team to deliver high-quality content that resonates with Aggreko’s broad customer base, across multiple sectors including manufacturing, construction and data centres.

The relationship is already proving fruitful, with WPR creating and delivering a new industry report, ‘Bridging the Energy Gap’. The report surveyed 200 key energy decision-makers across the industry on their views regarding decentralised energy in the UK.

Tom Leatherbarrow, B2B director at WPR, said: “Aggreko is a world-renowned blue-chip business that fits perfectly with our content creation capabilities and sector experience with companies such as Baxi Heating, REHAU and Spirax Sarco. It also complements our knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability issues.”

Liz Smith, marketing manager for Aggreko Northern Europe, said: “As a leading provider of temporary heating, cooling and power generation equipment, innovation is at our core. The energy market is developing rapidly, particularly in areas such as decentralised energy, and we wanted a PR agency that both understood the issues involved and could deliver hard-hitting content across multiple media channels. We’re looking forward to developing this relationship further and bringing our PR to life with WPR.”
