WPR Expands PR Team

Birmingham agency WPR has welcomed four new team members in recent weeks, expanding both its consumer PR and B2B PR teams.

On the consumer PR team, Hayley Abbott and Amelia Woodward join as junior PR and content executives. Hayley got a taste for PR after completing a WPR placement during the final year of her digital media degree; Amelia is putting her love of creative and professional writing to great effect having pivoted her career from education to PR.

Strengthening the agency’s B2B arm, Emma Lloyd and Joe Sims-Woodhouse have also taken up roles as junior PR and content executives. Following a degree in journalism, Emma recently completed a master’s in PR at Birmingham City University. While Joe, who finished his PPE degree at University of Nottingham this summer, returns to WPR after impressing colleagues when he undertook an internship at the agency in 2021.

Managing director Jane Ainsworth said: “Developing industry talent has always been at the heart of our approach, with almost half our team having joined as interns or juniors. Recruiting exciting young team members brings new ideas and fresh perspectives to our work. So, I’m delighted to welcome our newest members to the brilliant WPR team as they begin their careers.”

The appointments follow a number of new business wins including brands such as Alton Towers, Wise and Packington Free Range.

As part of a wider commitment to increasing WPR’s positive impact on the planet – and to say thank you when clients and colleagues choose the agency – WPR plants 50 trees for every new team member. The arrival of the most recent joiners will see another 200 trees planted in Kenya, as part of a community project to replant and protect a landscape which has lost 90% of its forest.
