Leekes: Launching Leekes

The Challenge

To drive awareness of, and footfall to, Leekes’ new flagship Coventry store.


The Idea

Aware that Leekes had to generate awareness outside Coventry if it was to hit its sales targets, we adopted a personal approach to earned media – using human interest and regionally relevant stories to drive coverage.


The Results

  • Within six months, we secured 69 pieces of media coverage for one store in Coventry
  • Leekes subsequently reported trading figures above any other store opening within the group
  • Early figures showed footfall was 50% higher than peak figures across the rest of the portfolio
