WPR Shortlisted For PRCA Workplace Champions

PRCA Workplace Champions, a scheme that recognises organisations committed to their team, has named WPR as one of the UK’s leading places to work in the PR industry in 2023.

As well as being shortlisted in the large agency category, the Birmingham PR agency has been included in a special category identifying companies that excel in the area of training and development.

In creating the shortlist, the Workplace Champions judges consider how an organisation values its team, its commitment to training and development, how it approaches diversity, equity and inclusion, and its positive impact on society and the environment.

Jane Ainsworth, WPR’s managing director, said: “We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted by PRCA. Our mission is to make good things happen for everyone in our world – the clients we serve, the people who make us, the community we love and the planet we share.

“Over the last 18-months, we have looked holistically at how we operate as a business, identifying ways to have a positive impact on everything from the wellbeing of our team to important causes in our local community. We always had a people-first philosophy, but the more we’ve done to make WPR the best possible place to work, the more committed and ambitious we’ve become about being part of the sustainable and regenerative economy of the future.”

Rebecca Williams, director (people and planning), who has responsibility for all things ‘team’ at WPR, said: “It is particularly pleasing to be recognised for the work we do around training and development because CPD isn’t just part of what we do at WPR; it’s central to everything we stand for.

“From specialist external training to all-agency learning lunches, our programme is designed to upskill and inspire our team, unleashing their full potential. Alongside this, our long history of nurturing young talent has evolved into the industry-leading NEXT GEN learning and insight experience for aspiring professionals entering the exciting world of PR, social media and comms.”

Celebrating the leading places to work, live and thrive in the UK’s PR industry, the PRCA Workplace Champions awards highlight the agencies and in-house teams that go the extra mile to establish positive, inclusive working environments. Winners will be announced in early spring.
