Lucky Number Seven for Edgbaston PR Agency

Birmingham-based PR agency, WPR, stole the show at the region’s top industry awards in Birmingham this September, walking away with seven in total.

Days later, the team was back on the stage – this time in Manchester – to collect a Grand Prix award from the PRCA for its trade and B2B campaign for REHAU, beating off nationwide competition to take the trophy.

The wins follow a double victory at the PRCA Midlands Dare awards this summer.

It was at the CIPR Midlands Pride Awards in September, however, that the agency really made its mark.  Held annually, the event celebrates the very best PR work across the region.

Achieving gold for its ability to capture an audience’s attention while working to a budget, WPR took home the ‘Consumer Relations’ award for its ‘Pub-Licist’ campaign with Hungry Horse. The project appealed to pub-lovers everywhere, offering a job role to someone interested in being paid to drink beer, play darts and enjoy many other classic pub-related activities.

WPR showed its ability to incorporate the emotional and social benefits of products offered by its clients, winning silver for the ‘Corporate and Business Communications’ award for the ‘Build Your Legacy’ campaign it created with REHAU. This placed emphasis on quality building services that last, creating a legacy for those involved in the construction process.

To top off the evening, Jade Mansell senior account director at WPR, was awarded ‘Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year’ due to her devotion to ideas generation, approach to leadership and thirst for learning.

Jane Ainsworth, managing director at WPR, commented: “All of these awards are a testament to the dedication of the agency to go above and beyond for our clients. This commitment is demonstrated by the 100 industry accolades that the agency has been awarded over the last 15 years.”
