Triton: The Hidden Costs of Lockdown

The Challenge

To demonstrate the sustainable credentials of Triton’s electric showers.

As part of a wider sustainability drive for our long-standing client, Triton, WPR was tasked with raising awareness of the water and energy saving benefits of electric showers.

 

The Idea

Knowing that people’s domestic habits had changed while spending more time at home during lockdown, we commissioned a survey to explore how the pandemic has increased the nation’s energy and water consumption.

We examined consumer attitudes towards energy and water usage, uncovering surprising results. To capture attention, we showed how making more environmentally-friendly choices could not only benefit the environment, but also save households money.

To drive traffic, an interactive online calculator was developed on Triton’s website to help families take simple steps to reduce their energy and water usage.

 

The Results

As soon as the research was released, the attention-grabbing story secured:

  • An impressive 11 pieces of national coverage including in The Sun, Independent, and Daily Express
  • 18% backlink rate to Triton’s landing page, directing readers to tips to reduce their water and energy consumption
  • 531 earned social shares from national media coverage
