Plumbase: Boosting Ecommerce Revenue

The Challenge

To boost the conversion rate of Plumbase’s ecommerce website; increasing both the number of visitors who buy products and their average order value.

 

The Idea

We embarked on a CRO (Conversion Rate Optimisation) project with the aim of making it much easier for customers to find and buy their desired heating and plumbing products online.

An in-depth audit of the existing ecommerce site identified opportunities to enhance features ranging from the site’s search functionality and menu navigation, to product category segmentation and the checkout process.

Working closely with the Plumbase web development team, we were able to ensure phased improvements to the online experience were made, with their impact on the website’s analytics closely examined along the way.

 

The Results

During the final quarter of 2018 (October-December), we achieved:

  • A 60% year-on-year increase in the number of customer transactions
  • A 91% increase in the average order value
  • A 181% increase in revenue generated online
